Short Description
‘Furner Rundweg’ is a round tour starting and ending in the Village of Furna, Switzerland. A region once settled by the Walser clan during their migration, which now inhabit the canton of Wallis.
It leads from alp to alp (alp as in Swiss mountain pasture) around mount Fadeuer and back.
Impressions
I honestly don’t remember too much about this hike, as of writing this in November 2021. This includes the reason why I/we decided to take a different route than the “original” one, or why I considered the result a fail. Unfortunately I did not make a note of it.
I can only guess it had something to do with elongating a relatively short hike (compared to our last one), and/or the free parking area at our chosen start/end position.
Two things I do remember about the hike are:
1. The gassy, but curious and friendly goats near the top of the hike, who enriched our lunch break with their musical notes and aroma therapy.
2. The lovely views of the alps on the way back down.
So according to my memory and sparse notes, a nice but unspectacular long walk with some good views and cute goats.
Goats optional, your experience may vary.
